Making our diversity a strength
OSSTF/FEESO has changed a great deal over the past twenty years. I am proud to have been part of that change.
As a Federation, we have learned to better recognize the diversity of our members: their professions, their classifications, their regional and linguistic realities, and the many settings they work in.
That change didn’t come from a single decision. It was built over the years by members, committees, working groups and the many resolutions adopted democratically to make our structures and practices ever more inclusive and representative.
I have had the privilege of contributing to that work, notably on the French Language Services Committee, which I chaired in 2023-2024 after holding several roles on it, and through my work on Provincial Council and many committees and working groups. I have seen the changes happen. I am proud of them.
And I believe our responsibility today is to keep that momentum going: to keep listening, adapting and moving our Federation forward with the members it represents.
Because inclusion isn’t a destination you reach once and for all. It’s a way of building our Federation, together.
“I helped shape the changes of yesterday. I want to keep building the changes of tomorrow.”
